改用小型桨叶后，挥动桨叶将更加省力。(因为桨叶位于双叶船桨的两端。改用小型桨叶后，船桨两端的重量会减轻，这会使挥动桨叶将更加省力)这项改进极大的减小了划桨动作中的无效做功。

使用小型桨叶后，单次划桨的能量输出会更小，但是划桨频率能提高。这更加符合背 包船类的推进需要。单方向大推力会增加背包船的摆动，减小推力用中等速度划行背包船能得到更高的能效比，划船不容易累。当需要较高速度时仍可以提高划桨频率来弥补。

由于背包船船舷较宽，小型桨叶也更容易浸没入水中。这样可以采用低角度方式划桨，有利于降低划桨者肩膀的负担，减少甩水。

小型桨叶不是单纯将大桨叶缩小。
还需要根据新的推力要求调整桨叶的弧面弯曲度。
从而为新的桨叶匹配出最佳的划桨行程。
使划桨感受更加流畅。

Paddle Buoyancy
To keep the paddle lightweight, no buoyant materials are used in the shaft. However, the air inside the shaft provides buoyancy. After testing, it was confirmed that the paddle can float for over 24 hours when submerged in water (tested in still water conditions).
Intended Use
Long-distance paddling, recreational paddling
(Note: Due to the design...not suitable for whitewater paddling.)

Details
The paddle blades are made from a fiberglass and nylon composite through an injection molding process. Due to the nature of this manufacturing technique, the surface may occasionally show visible fiberglass strands or minor unevenness.
